About the Event
The Spring Farm-to-Table Dinner is an annual event hosted by the Carteret Local Food Network. This year's event promises to be a unique and unforgettable culinary experience. Taking place on a local farm, the event offers guests the opportunity to indulge in a menu of fresh, locally sourced dishes that showcase the best of the season.
The evening begins with a social hour, where guests can mingle with the farmers, chefs, and other guests while enjoying tours of the farm. The social hour is BYOB, allowing guests to bring their favorite drink to enjoy while exploring the farm.
The appetizer for the evening is a tantalizing shrimp ceviche, made with succulent shrimp that have been sustainably sourced from the local waters. This is followed by a delightful strawberry & beet salad, which features fresh, ripe strawberries and beets picked from the farm that same day.
The main course of the evening is a Shenk pasture-raised chicken, a succulent and flavorful dish highlighting the importance of ethical and sustainable farming practices. The chicken is served with a side of seasonal vegetables, grown on the farm using traditional and sustainable methods.
Finally, guests will have the opportunity to indulge in a delicious seasonal dessert, made with ingredients that are at their peak flavor. This could be anything from a rhubarb tart to a blackberry cobbler, depending on what's available locally.
Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to meet the farmers, tour the farm, and learn about the sustainable practices that go into producing the food they enjoy.
