“Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless.”

There are a number of ways you can get involved with Carteret Local Food Network
by volunteering your time to become a team player.

Grant Writer

CLFN is actively seeking a volunteer to assist us in finding grants that will support our mission. This volunteer would seek out funding opportunities from private and public sources, complete and submitting the paperwork, and writing updates to the grantor as required.

We receive multiple grant offerings each week but need someone who supports our goals to review and sort through our opportunities. Please contact Stacy to discuss further.

Website/Social Media Admins

Some of our local farmers and fishers are too busy in the field and on the water to learn how to get connected; can you help them? Can you help us?

Marketing/Publicity/Newsletters

Help to shape the face

of CLFN to the public, design printable materials, keep information current on our website, distribute brochures. Do you write? We are also looking for fun information to share on our blog.

 Food events/Set-Up/Clean Up

Behind the Scenes - know how to wash pots and pans? Are you an expert at clearing dishes? Can you fold napkins? You're hired! (so to speak) We task friends with setting up tables and chairs, wiping tablecloths, setting out napkins and tableware, assisting chefs, serving at a buffet line, bussing plates, folding it all away again. Sometimes your reward is a free meal, sometimes a pat on the back, but you are always appreciated.

Veggie Van Mobile Markets

We are always looking for help at our mobile market locations. Volunteers can assist with things like passing out information and setting up signs in neighborhoods before markets as well as help customers on market days by talking with them about local farmers and produce, assisting with produce selections, helping our Mobile Market Operator with transactions, and getting your choice of fresh produce!

Cleaning Crew

Help us keep our Food Hub and Veggie Van clean and sanitized. We have high standards and need to attend to the behind-the-scenes work to make sure the spaces are ready for proper food hygiene. Flexible schedule, usually over a weekend (Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon), washing totes and tables, sweeping, cleaning glasses and silverware after an event; bring a friend and make a team effort once or twice a month.

Data Entry

We are always looking for tech-savvy individuals to help us move forward in the digital age. We need help moving data from older platforms to newer, integrated ones.
