The Farm at Bogue

Summer Farms, Food, & Friends Dinner

Our Farms, Food, & Friends (FFF) Dinners are the farm to table dinners that we hold four times a year. We feature our county's freshest produce, proteins, and other ingredients from our local farmers that are crafted into amazing meals at the hands of our local chefs.

About the Event

What's on the menu?

Shenk Family Farm pork, prepared Eastern NC style, corn, okra, salad, and Bogue Sound watermelons!

What else can we do?

Farmers Bert and Justin will be available to answer any questions you may have about their farming practices, give tours of their hydroponic greenhouse, and provide unending comedic relief. You may walk around the property, scope it out, and visit with both new and old friends.

What about COVID safety?

All of the members of Carteret Local Food Network have been fully vaccinated. We will be serving the meal either buffet or family-style (large portions on the table to serve yourself), depending on the CDC and state of NC Guidelines.

If you are unvaccinated, we ask that you please wear a mask to protect yourself and others, but the venue is outdoors, the meal will be served outdoors, and you can interact as much as you feel comfortable. We are so excited to be able to gather again!

Additionally, ticket sales are capped at 50 attendees, and with CLFN and volunteers, we expect no more than 75 individuals at this dinner.

Why does Carteret Local Food Network host these dinners?

Our biggest goal is to connect Carteret County consumers with their local farmers. We try to promote our farmers as much as possible and offering an environment where someone can see, taste, smell, hear and touch where their food comes from makes all the difference.

We hope that when you taste the difference, you will continue to choose to shop locally as much as possible. As you discover new tastes, recipes, and identify the issues that surround our local food scene, you will realize the importance of supporting our farmers with our purchasing dollars. (We also enjoy the opportunity to eat delicious food with like-minded individuals at amazing locations!)

If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to either our Executive Director, Stacy Macklin at stacy.clfn@gmail.com, or Chef Caroline, our Farm & Food Director at caroline.clfn@gmail.com.
